Administrative Support Group

The administrative group has three main functions; grant administration, support to professional staff, and procurement. This group is comprised of a department administrator, office manager, department buyer, coordinator of research data and an administrative assistant.
The responsibilities of the department administrator include grant administration, human resources management, operation systems, departmental policies, departmental physical layout and maintenance, and other activities essential to the successful operation of the section.

The office manager oversees the daily administrative operation of the IROC Houston and provides administrative support to the physicists.   These duties include document preparation (data collected by radiation physicists while reviewing institutions that are participating in clinical trials), presentation preparation, correspondence, travel requests and expense accounts, preparation of IROC Houston trip packages for the traveling physicists, and assists in the preparation of scientific documents and presentations, and comprehensive record keeping.   The department buyer procures materials, services, and equipment, travel requests, processes expense accounts and handles accounting relating to travel and purchasing. The coordinator of research data is responsible for validating and entering accounting and dosimetry data into the IROC Houston's RADS database. The administrative assistant is responsible for answering telephones, greeting visitors, entering dosimetry review visit information into the database, processing mail, and preparation of packages for shipment.
