Reference Case 3 (Breast)
Attached is a diagram showing the contour of the transversal projection of a left breast. On the diagram, it is marked with an “x” the location of the National Surgical Adjuvant Breast and Bowel Project (NSABP) dose prescription point. The NSABP prescription point is located at 1/3 the height of the breast’s medio-lateral plane projection, measured at the breast’s height along the baseline’s bisector (See Figure). The NSABP prescription point depths are measured along the fan lines for each field. The off-axis distance to the
NSABP prescription point is measured perpendicular to the central ray.
Please calculate the treatment time, “provide computer isodose curves for fields with wedges and also wedge curves”, and any other appropriate dosimetry necessary to deliver 5000 cGy to the NSABP dose prescription point, 200 cGy/day for the given breast contour.
